What is Waffle?
Waffle gives you all the letters at once, arranged in three horizontal and three vertical five-letter words. Drag one tile onto another to exchange them. Green marks a correct position, while yellow points to a letter needed elsewhere in a crossing word. The daily puzzle allows 15 swaps, so each exchange needs to help the whole grid rather than just one word.
How to play
- Open Daily Waffle and inspect the green letters and the three words in each direction.
- Use the yellow clues to narrow possible words, checking both directions at an intersection.
- Drag a letter onto another tile to swap their positions, then read the updated colors and remaining-swap counter.
- Complete all six words within 15 swaps; each unused swap earns a star.
What does yellow mean at a crossing?
Yellow means the letter belongs elsewhere in a word passing through that tile. At a corner or intersection, either the horizontal or vertical word may need it. With repeated letters, a yellow tile is a clue about the word, not a promise that this particular copy must stay in it.
How do you earn five stars?
You earn one star per unused swap after solving the grid. Waffle says every daily puzzle can be solved in 10 swaps; finishing that way leaves five of the 15 swaps and earns five stars. Solving with more swaps still completes the puzzle, but leaves fewer stars.
Can you leave a puzzle and return?
Yes. An unfinished daily board resumes in the same browser with your exchanged letters and remaining swaps. Keep the site's stored data intact. Account syncing transfers finished scores, not today's unfinished progress between devices.
