This category is for puzzles about video games, not every game you can play in a browser. Recognizing a title is the challenge. Your memory of cover art, series and platforms can become useful evidence, even when you cannot immediately put a name to what you see.
Separate recognition from a hunch
When an image looks familiar, ask which detail you actually recognize: a character, a logo or a distinctive setting. A similar art style can suggest a lead without identifying the title. Keep the series and the specific installment separate in your mind so familiarity does not become an automatic guess.
Let feedback change the next guess
Gamedle's Cover Art mode combines an image with feedback about shared franchises, sagas, genres or platforms. Use those connections to reconsider your visual impression rather than repeatedly guessing titles that look alike. A useful next guess tests a remaining possibility; it does not simply repeat the association that produced the last miss.
Do you have to have played the answer?
Not necessarily: recognizing a cover or knowing a series can give you a lead without firsthand play. Still, knowledge of one franchise will not cover every possible title. Check which mode a listing describes before opening it, since different challenges on the same site can ask you to identify games in different ways.
