What is Neograms?
Neograms is a daily language-decoding puzzle by N.M.A. Pitman. A set of paired sentences gives you examples in English and an invented symbolic language. Work out the vocabulary and changes in grammar, then solve two tasks: translate a symbolic sentence into English and encode an English sentence with the symbol keyboard. The daily page also links to the previous seven puzzles and separate bonus puzzles.
How to play
- Open today’s puzzle and compare the paired clue sentences for repeated words and symbols.
- Type your English translation in the Decode cells. On a phone, tap a cell to open the game’s letter keyboard.
- Select each Encode slot and use the symbol keyboard to build the requested sentence, then press Check both answers.
What are you trying to work out?
The clues pair English sentences with symbolic ones. Compare examples that change a person, an object, a tense or a plural. Today’s Sërevani puzzle explicitly marks plurals and verb forms as features; do not assume every day has the same grammar.
How do you enter a symbolic answer?
Choose an Encode slot to open its symbol keyboard. The palette includes root symbols and additional marks, so an answer can require more than choosing a whole word. The Decode task uses ordinary English letters instead.
Does a wrong check end the puzzle?
No. The tested puzzle returned “Not quite — keep looking for the patterns” and left both answers editable. The Hints control is separate from checking; you do not need to reveal the solution to submit an attempt.
