What is Paint Roller?
Paint Roller is Fiddleday’s daily overpainting puzzle. A blank six-by-six cream canvas sits beside a small target picture. Choose a paint color, then roll across a complete row or column. Because each roll covers the paint already there, solving the picture depends on the order of your strokes as well as their color.
How to play
- Compare the blank canvas with the small target picture.
- Choose a color from the swatches, then tap a row or column arrow to paint the whole line.
- Layer further rolls until the canvas matches the target; later paint replaces earlier paint.
- Use Undo roll to reconsider a stroke and compare your completed roll count with par.
Why does the painting order matter?
A roll paints the entire selected row or column, replacing anything beneath it. A crossing stroke can erase part of an earlier line, so reaching the target requires choosing which strokes should remain on top.
What is par?
The official explanation defines par as the shortest sequence found by its solver. Finishing at par earns three stars, up to two extra rolls earns two stars, and longer solutions earn one.
Can you erase or undo a roll?
The cream swatch paints the paper color back over a line, while Undo roll reverses the previous stroke. Those are different actions: cream is another painting choice, not a rewind.
