What is Twill?
Twill is a daily binary logic puzzle presented as a woven swatch. Fill every empty square with light or dark thread. Each row and column needs equal numbers of both, no three identical threads can sit together, and the ties and crosses between certain squares add local constraints.
How to play
- Press Start and inspect the given threads and the tie (=) or cross (×) between adjacent squares.
- Tap an empty square once for light, again for dark and again to clear it; balance both thread colors in every row and column.
- Avoid three matching threads in a line, obey the marked relationships, and finish the whole swatch correctly to complete the puzzle.
What do the equals and cross markers mean?
An equals sign ties two adjacent squares to the same thread color. A cross requires different colors. These markers work alongside the equal-count and no-three rules; they do not replace them.
What changes on Sunday?
Sunday’s Twill puzzle also requires every row to differ from every other row, and every column to differ from every other column. The official weekly schedule places this extra rule after the easier weekday swatches.
How do hints affect my score?
The publisher starts a puzzle at 1,000 points, reduces points as time passes, and charges 50 points for each hint. Hints explain a next square or point out an incorrect square first. The clock starts when you press Start.
