What is Originle?
Originle introduces a guest and asks which country they represent through their roots and culture. Watch the opening video, shortlist countries and reveal progressively easier clues if needed. There are eight clues and three guesses, with scoring that trades extra help against remaining points.
How to play
- Meet today’s guest and watch the opening video clue.
- Use captions or replay if you need to revisit what the guest says.
- Explore the globe to keep notes and shortlist possible countries.
- Choose a country and lock in your guess when ready.
- Reveal the next clue if you need more help, keeping the three-guess limit and point costs in mind.
Am I guessing where the guest lives?
Not necessarily. You are identifying the country the guest represents through roots and culture. The official instructions explicitly note that guests can be part of a diaspora: an American or Australian accent alone does not settle the answer. Treat speech as one clue alongside the cultural details.
How much do extra clues cost?
The score starts out of 10,000. Additional reveals become progressively more expensive, from 250 points to 1,750 for the last clue, while each wrong guess costs 30% of your points. If you miss all three or give up, the game still awards a score for how close you came. Decide whether another clue is worth more than an uncertain guess.
