What is Scalar?

Scalar’s Countries mode turns each guess into a set of comparisons with a hidden country. Location, area, population, borders and other attributes supply clues, with graded feedback rather than a single distance reading.

How to play

  1. Open Countries mode and search for a country.
  2. Select a suggestion to submit it and reveal the comparison card.
  3. Use exact matches, graded misses and directional arrows to narrow your next country.

What does the feedback mean?

The legend distinguishes EXACT, HOT, NEAR and MISS. A submitted country gets attribute-by-attribute feedback; arrows and ratios help compare ordered quantities.

Do map and attribute hints cost moves?

Yes. The map is labeled +3 moves, while individual attribute reveals show Hint +1. These are optional aids rather than free information.

Does a refresh keep your guesses?

The tested desktop and touch sessions restored the submitted France comparison and one-move count after refreshing. This is same-browser storage, not a promise of cross-device sync.
