What is Headlines?
Headlines gives you five dated-event puzzles with the dates removed. Adjust a year and lock it in to see the actual date and points. The official About page explains that its headlines are written for the game, not copied from newspaper archives.
How to play
- Choose today’s edition to open the first headline.
- Move the year slider or use the plus and minus controls to set your estimate.
- Lock in the year, read the result, and continue through all five headlines.
How are points calculated?
Each headline starts at 100 points and loses two for every year your estimate is off. Five exact estimates total 500 points.
Are these copied historical newspaper headlines?
No. The official About page says the events are real but the headlines are written for the game in period style. A named paper indicates the kind of publication that would have covered the event.
What happens if you refresh mid-edition?
In the tested sessions, refreshing after the first result opened the second headline and preserved the accumulated score. A refresh did not reset the edition to zero.
