What is Wourdle?

Wourdle is a daily hidden-word game that prefers British English spelling. You have seven attempts to identify a six-letter answer. After an accepted guess, tile colors distinguish correctly placed letters, letters that belong elsewhere and letters absent from the answer. The extra letter and regional vocabulary change the possibilities without replacing the familiar guess-and-revise format.

How to play

  1. Enter a six-letter word using the keyboard or the on-screen letter buttons.
  2. Press Enter to submit the complete word.
  3. Use the tile feedback to keep correct positions and move letters that belong elsewhere.
  4. Revise your next word and find the answer within seven guesses; Delete removes an unsubmitted letter.

How is Wourdle different from a five-letter puzzle?

The answer has six letters and you get seven tries. The official instructions also specify a preference for British English spelling, so regional forms matter when choosing candidate words.

What do the tile colors tell you?

Green marks a correct letter in the correct position. Yellow marks a letter in the word but in a different position. Gray marks a letter that is not in the word. Read the feedback from the whole accepted row before choosing another word.

Can you play without a physical keyboard?

Yes. The page supplies letter keys, Enter and Delete. The phone test used actual taps to enter and submit COLOUR, then confirmed that the colored row remained after refreshing.
