What is Bonedoggle?
Bonedoggle is a daily anatomy puzzle from Trainwreck Labs. You build a skeleton one guessed bone at a time while searching for the Mystery Bone. Each incorrect guess gives an articulation distance: the shortest chain of bone connections to the answer, rather than a measurement of physical space. The core daily game is playable without creating an account.
How to play
- Open the official site and choose Play today's game.
- Type a bone name into the search field and select the intended result, checking the left or right side where relevant.
- Submit the result with Enter or by choosing a search suggestion; read its articulation distance to the Mystery Bone.
- Compare the distances from your guesses and add another bone to narrow the target's position in the skeleton.
What does the distance from a guess mean?
It is the minimum number of articulations connecting your guessed bone to the Mystery Bone. Two bones that look close on screen are not necessarily close along that connection path. Compare multiple guesses instead of treating the number as a physical distance.
How do you choose the right side or numbered bone?
Use L or R in the search to narrow left and right results, and numbers for numbered bones. For example, R ulna searches for the right ulna, while 8 thoracic narrows the search to the eighth thoracic vertebra. Select the exact suggestion; a broad name such as femur can return both sides.
Why is the skeleton viewer empty at the start?
The skeleton is built from the bones you add. Before the first accepted guess, the daily page asks you to enter any bone and leaves the viewer empty. After a guess, the named bone and its distance become part of your clue history.
