What is Elsewhere?
Elsewhere is a daily geography mystery built around four clues that point to the same place. The first clue is open; revealing each additional clue costs 50 points. You can search for a place or position a pin on the map, but a daily round has only one final guess. Hold the lock-in button when you are ready. The result breaks the score into distance accuracy, clue use and speed, and offers a spoiler-free share card.
How to play
- Read the first clue and look for the city that could connect the different subject areas. Reveal another clue if you need it; each costs 50 points.
- Search for a town, island or landmark, or tap the map to place your pin. Adjust the provisional pin before committing.
- Hold the lock-in button to submit your one daily guess, then review the distance and scoring breakdown.
Can I move my pin before submitting?
Yes. Placing a provisional pin is not the final answer. The interface asks you to hold to lock it in, and warns that there is one daily guess.
How does scoring work?
The result screen divides a maximum 1,000 points into accuracy out of 800, a clue bonus out of 150 and a speed bonus out of 50. The official breakdown gives full accuracy within 12 km and full speed credit under 30 seconds; speed credit falls to zero after five minutes.
Do I need to share my location or sign in?
The official privacy page says it does not collect your physical location. Guest play is available. The service stores rounds, scores and a random player record; OpenStreetMap supplies tiles and place search. A submitted score can appear on the daily board.
