What is The Daily Hue?

The Daily Hue asks you to reconstruct a color by adjusting hue, saturation and lightness. Three sliders control your guess and a swatch previews the result before you submit it. The game allows five guesses and shows feedback for the three color dimensions after a submission. The daily page pairs the challenge with an artwork and a write-up; its gallery unlocks after the final guess or a correct color.

How to play

  1. Open the daily game and dismiss the introduction to reach the three color sliders.
  2. Adjust Hue, Saturation and Lightness, checking the preview swatch before pressing Submit Guess.
  3. Use the feedback from your submitted color to adjust the next attempt. You have five guesses; the gallery unlocks after a correct color or the final guess.

How do the Daily Hue sliders change your color?

Hue moves around the color spectrum, saturation changes how intense the color is, and lightness makes it darker or lighter. The preview swatch updates your proposed color before you submit.

When can I open the gallery?

The game states that its gallery unlocks after the final guess or a correct color. You can also follow the daily artwork write-up from the game page.

Will refreshing erase my current guesses?

In the tested desktop and touch sessions, the game still showed Guess 2 of 5 after a page reload. This describes the tested browser sessions, not a promise of cross-device syncing.
