What is Primel?
Primel turns the five-character guessing grid into a number puzzle. You have six attempts to find a five-digit prime, and each attempt must itself be a valid five-digit prime. Colored tiles identify correct positions, misplaced digits and digits absent from the answer. The official app links to its open-source code and keeps your current guesses in this browser.
How to play
- Enter a five-digit prime using the number keys, then press Enter. A non-prime entry is rejected rather than added as a guess.
- Keep green digits in place and move yellow digits to other positions. Gray digits are absent, subject to the usual limits when a digit repeats.
- Build another valid prime from the remaining possibilities. Use Delete to correct an entry and solve within six accepted guesses.
Why does Primel reject my number?
Every accepted entry has to be a five-digit prime. The tested entry 11111 produced “Not a 5 digit prime” and did not consume a row; 12347 was accepted. Delete edits the current entry before submission.
What do Primel tile colors reveal about your prime?
Green means the digit is correct in that position. Yellow means it belongs elsewhere in the prime. Gray rules out that occurrence. A number can satisfy those position clues and still be rejected if it is not a valid prime.
Will a refresh erase my guesses?
The current puzzle is stored in local browser storage. Accepted guesses survived refresh on desktop and touch devices, both on the official website and inside the embedded player. That is device-local saving, not an account or cross-device sync.
