What is Word Peaks?
Word Peaks gives you six guesses to identify a five-letter word. Each position tells you whether your letter comes before or after the answer's letter in the alphabet, or matches it exactly. The next row displays the remaining range, and the keyboard responds to the position you are editing. Rather than chasing letters anywhere in a word, you build a separate alphabetical interval for each slot. The free browser game includes Daily and Random modes without an account.
How to play
- Choose Daily and enter a five-letter word using the keyboard or on-screen keys.
- Press Enter to score the guess; read each position's earlier, later or correct result.
- Use the displayed letter ranges to choose another valid word, keeping correct positions in place.
- Find the word within six guesses; Random offers a separate non-daily puzzle.
What do earlier and later mean in Word Peaks?
They refer to alphabetical order at that exact position. Earlier is closer to A and later is closer to Z. A correct result fixes that slot; it does not mean the letter merely occurs somewhere else in the word.
Why does the Word Peaks keyboard change as you type?
The available interval belongs to the position you are entering. The tile and keyboard show the letters still possible there, helping you check a proposed word against the accumulated bounds.
Can you resume a Word Peaks daily guess after refreshing?
Refreshing retained the submitted guess and its earlier, later and correct results in both desktop and mobile tests. That is progress in the tested browser, not a promise of account-based or cross-device synchronization.
