What is Happy Faces?
Happy Faces is a daily picture-state logic puzzle. Every square shows one of three pictures, and selecting a square advances its entire row and column through that three-state cycle. The selected intersection advances only once. Your goal is to bring the whole board to the target picture while keeping the move count low; a separate Practice mode supplies random puzzles.
How to play
- Open Daily and identify the goal picture and the three-state cycle shown beside the board.
- Select a square to advance every picture in its row and column by one state; the selected square advances only once.
- Plan overlapping row and column changes until every square shows the goal picture.
- Try to finish in fewer moves and less time, or choose Practice for random puzzles without the daily leaderboard.
Does the clicked square change twice?
No. Although the move affects both a row and a column, the intersection advances only once. Every affected picture moves one step through the displayed three-picture cycle.
Is the aim to make every square a smiling face?
Use the goal picture shown for the current theme, not a fixed emoji. The guide describes three picture states and asks you to make every square match the first, goal state.
Can I practise without joining the leaderboard?
Yes. The official guide describes Practice as random puzzles with no timer and no leaderboard. Daily rankings favour fewer moves and less time; the Terms say an account is not required and leaderboard initials are optional.
